Linda Rae Scadden, 67, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, October 26, 2017 at Embassy Rehab and Care Center in Sergeant Bluff.
Services will be held 11:00 Monday, October 30, 2017 at Radiant Life Community Church, 2410 West 1st Street, Sioux City. A visitation with family present will begin one hour prior to service time at the church. Burial will be at Willow Township Cemetery in Holly Springs, IA.
Linda was born on October 13, 1950 in Sioux City, the daughter of Bernard and Bethene (McClaran) Forney. She lived on a farm near Holly Springs and attended Westwood Community School, graduating in 1969. Out of high school, Linda worked for Postal Finance Company. She then became a nanny for a family that she grew to love as her own, Mark, Randy, and Skip Jones. Linda also did in-home daycare,later working at Apple Tree and Kids Care. She sold Tupperware for many years. Linda married Larry Scadden on July 2, 2004.
Linda was an avid quilter, enjoyed doing plastic canvas and other crafts, and baking. Her mints and cookies were a staple at many family events. Linda had the biggest heart, she was full of love and compassion for all who passed through her life.
Survivors include her husband, Larry; sisters, Sandra Welch, Sherry (Rick) Book, and Pam Melham; step children, Scott Scadden, Kathy La Fleur, and Toni Scadden; step grandchildren, Zachary, Mylie, Tia, Tayla, Shelby, and Amber; and step great grandchild, Scarlette. Linda is also survived by her special friend, Juanita Graybill; and many nieces, nephews and other family and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister, Marilyn; brother, Larry Forney; brothers in law, Mike Melham and Earl "Bud" Welch; and step grandson, Noah Storm.
