Linda C. Kellen, 64, of Sioux City, passed away Saturday, August 5, 2017 at her residence. Celebration of Life will be held at 7:00 pm, Wednesday, August 9, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation will be held from 4:00 to 8:00 pm with family present on Wednesday at the funeral home.
Linda was born on November 10, 1952 in Sioux City, the daughter of Norbert and Elaine (Moritz) Kellen. She graduated from Heelan High School in 1971 and after working in various restaurants she found her calling in food service at Briar Cliff College where she worked for twenty-seven years. Linda then worked at Western Iowa Tech for about 5 years leaving there in 2016 due to health problems.
Linda enjoyed riding the city bus and it was there that she met the love of her life, David. Her two daughters were her world and she spent her life raising and caring for them until the end. When grand-daughter Piper came along - that was it! - she was smitten and so proud to be called 'grandma'. Family was her everything.
Those left to cherish her memory: the love her life, David Boe; her daughters, Jennifer (Keith) Roupe of McCook Lake and Lindsey Boe of Omaha; her one and only grandchild, Piper; siblings, Don (Mary Lou) Kellen, Judi (Bob) Brouillette, and Paul "Sonny" (fiance Julie) Kellen; brother in law, Dave Gualazzi; sister in law, Jeanette Kellen; and many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
Linda was preceded in death by her parents; siblings, Tom Kellen, Betty Madge Kellen, Norma Gualazzi; and sister in law, Lori Kellen.
The family would like to thank the doctors and nurses on the oncology floor at Unity Point/St Luke's Hospital. A special thank you to nurse Amy, for the above and beyond care she gave to Linda.
