Obituary

Lila Lee Landers, age 83, of North Sioux City, South Dakota passed away on Thursday November 14, 2013 at a Sioux City hospital.

Funeral services will be held at 1:00 pm Saturday November 16, 2013 at Riverside United Methodist Church in Sioux City with Pastor Kris Frank officiating. Interment will follow in the Elk Point, South Dakota cemetery. Visitation with the family present will be held on Friday from 6-8 pm at the church. Lila was born in Sioux City, Iowa on October 24, 1930, the daughter of Sylvester and Annetta (Comstock) Grenier. She was a lifelong resident of the Siouxland area. She grew up in the Riverside area and lived there until moving to North Sioux City, South Dakota nine years ago. She was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. She was very active in the Riverside PTA and Booster Club while her children were in school.

She was united in marriage with Bobby Landers on December 4, 1948 in Elk Point, South Dakota. Bobby preceded her in death on August 21, 2008.
Lila was a fantastic cook, enjoyed playing cards, going to casinos and known to her family as the Queen of Bingo.

Her stories and memories will be missed by her family which includes her son Mark Landers of Kemah, TX, her daughters: Lynn Lofgren of Dakota Dunes, South Dakota and Christine Martin and her husband Delbert of Sioux City. She is also survived by her brother Lyle Grenier and his wife Rosemary of Sioux City, a sister-in-law Nancy Vie of Omaha, Nebraska. She is also survived by her grandchildren: Melanie Lofgren (Jesse) Shelly (Kenny) Keane, J.D. (Tracy) Martin, Jason Martin, and Ashley Landers. Three great-grandchildren: Victoria, Brandon, and Kasey.

Lila was preceded in death by her parents, her husband Bobby, her son Thomas, sisters: Nancy and Delores, a brother Fred, and son in law Jim.
