Lewis D. Pippitt, 57, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, gathered to his people on Sunday, January 31, 2016 at his residence. A memorial service will be held at 11:00 am, Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home.
Lewie was born on January 6, 1959, in Sioux City, IA, the son of James and Una (Marshall) Pippitt. He grew up on the family farm between Climbing Hill and Oto, Iowa. Lewie married Dawn Steig on May 23, 2005 in Dakota City, Nebraska.
Lewie worked at PBX in South Sioux City for many years, then as a sanitation engineer for Waste Management. Lewie also worked for the call centers Stream and Apogee.
Lewie enjoyed writing poetry, singing karaoke, fishing, motorcycles, Iowa Hawkeyes, and country western music. Lewie was a member of Salem Lutheran Church in Dakota City, NE.
Survivors include his wife Dawn of South Sioux City, NE, children: Richard, Hope, and Holli Pippitt, all of Sioux City, and several brothers and sisters.
Lewie was preceded in death by his parents.
