Lester E. Simpson, Jr., 47, of South Sioux City, Nebraska, passed away, Sunday, December 27, 2015 at Matney's Colonial Manor in South Sioux City. Memorial services will be held 11:00 am, Thursday, December 31, 2015 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans ave. A visitation will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date.

Les was born on May 11, 1968 in Memphis Tennessee, the son of Lester E. Simpson, Sr. and Patricia (O'Connor) Simpson. Les graduated from West High School in Sioux City in 1987. Following high school, Les acquired a police science degree from Western Iowa Tech. Les moved to the Baltimore, Maryland area in 2002 and worked as a Civilian Guard at the United States Pentagon. In 2012, he moved back to Sioux City where he met and married Tina Pueppke on September 14, 2013.

Les was a handyman at heart, he loved taking his time to help others with their projects. He was always tinkering with something. Les also enjoyed antiquing, going to the ocean, hunting, fishing, and camping.

Survivors include his wife, Tina Simpson of South Sioux City, father, Lester (Nancy) Simpson of Missouri, children: Alex Simpson of Sergeant Bluff, Jon Simpson of Orange City, and Makenzie Simpson of Sioux City, stepchild: Noah Becker of South Sioux City, brothers: Cody (Stephanie) Simpson of Missouri, Jesse (Amanda) Simpson of California, sisters: Renie Simpson of Sioux City, Tiffany (Troy) Touney of South Sioux City, Jamie (Brian McNaughton) Myers of Sioux City, Brandi (Kirk) Garman of Missouri, and Shayla (Michael) Montgomery of Missouri, and many nieces and nephews.

Les was preceded in death by his mother, Patricia Simpson.
