LeRoy T. Schonrock, age 52, of Sioux City died unexpectedly at a local hospital on Wednesday December 21, 2011.

Le Roy was born on August 20, 1959 in Sioux City, the son of John and Delores (Rask) Schonrock. He attended Sioux City East High School. LeRoy served his country as a member of the United States Marine Corp for six years following high school.

Le Roy had served families in the Siouxland area for many years as Santa Claus during the holiday season.

It was his wish to help others by being a registered tissue and organ donor upon his passing and gratefully this wish was accomplished.

Le Roy was a practical joker, who was a true people person, would give anyone a helping hand, and loved his children.

He will be missed by his family which includes his wife Kim of Sioux City, his three children: Levi Schonrock and his significant other Maggie Backman of Sioux City, his daughters Manda Schonrock and her significant other Blake Roberts, of Sioux City and Genelle Schonrock and her significant other Kyle Brever of Sioux City. He is also survived by two brothers: Art and his wife Louise of Hornick, Iowa, and Oscar of Sioux City, along with a sister Vivian Sherlock of South Sioux City, Nebraska and his grandchildren Marlee and Jude, along with another grandchild on the way.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brother John Jr., and sister Julie Clapper.
