Leola Rae Foster, age 70, of North Sioux City, S.D. died Monday August 6, 2012 at her residence.
Services will be held on Saturday August 11, 2012 at 10:30am from Church at the Gate in North Sioux City with Pastor Charles Baumer officiating. Interment will be held at a later date in the Correctionville, Iowa cemetery. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Leola was born on February 13, 1942 in Sabatha, Kansas the daughter of Edgar E and Valda E. “Higgins” Norton. Following her birth the family moved to the Ida Grove, Iowa area where she spent her childhood.
She was united in marriage with Don Foster on April 6, 1958 at the United Methodist Church in Ida Grove. The couple moved to the Sioux City area in 1974 and had made their home in North Sioux City since that time.
Leola enjoyed knitting, crocheting, making ceramics, doing word puzzles, camping, bingo, and fishing. She cherished the time she could spend with her family.
She is survived by her husband Don of North Sioux City, her sons: Tim Foster and Murray Foster and his special friend Anita Harbeck both of Sioux City, her daughters: Sandy Bellows and her husband Jim of Sioux City and Susan Johnson of Jefferson, South Dakota, She is also survived by three sisters: her twin sister Leona Thompson of Denison, Iowa, Sandra Pearson of Washington, and Mary Nelson of Oregon, 13 grandchildren, and 19 great-grandchildren along with many nieces and nephews and her special companion Gypsy.
She was preceded in death by her parents, two sisters: Peggy and Ruth, and great-grandson Malachi, and great-grandaughter Aerial
