Leo Francis Orr, age75, of Sioux City died Wednesday November 7, 2012 at a Sioux City hospital.
Funeral services will be held Friday November 9, 2012 at 2:00pm from First United Methodist Church in Sioux City with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Interment will follow in Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service on Friday at the church.
Leo was born in Onawa, Iowa on December 9, 1936 the son of Roy Albert and Daisy Marie (Holder) Orr. He and the family lived in the Onawa area until Leo was the age of 7 when they moved to the Sumner, Washington area. A few years later, the family moved to Parker, South Dakota before moving to the Jefferson, South Dakota area. He attended School in Jefferson.
Leo worked in construction for many years, he then became the custodian at Dakota Valley Community Schools, where he retired from five years ago.
Leo was a active member of First United Methodist Church where he was always willing to lend a hand in getting projects done.
Leo enjoyed watching Westerns on the television and listening to country western music. He was a picker many years before it became a popular hobby. He loved to visit with all of his friends and enjoyed his Sunday morning coffee with his sister. He always was willing to visit with his family and friends.
He is survived by his brother Raymond Orr and wife Carol of West Point, Nebraska and his sister Ruth LaFluer and her husband David of Sioux City along with many nieces and nephews.
Leo was preceded in death by his parents, brothers: Kenneth, David, and George and sisters Charlotte and Sharon.
