Laurie Soule (DeMey), 52, of Sioux City, died of unexpected causes Apr. 14, 2014 in Fort Worth, Texas.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00pm on Friday April 25, 2014 at Waterbury Funeral Service located at 400 4 ^th Street in Sergeant Bluff, with Pastor Russ Senstad officiating. A reception will follow the funeral at Redeemer Lutheran Church 3204 South Lakeport Street in Sioux City. Laurie will be cremated following the service and interment will be held at a later date. Laurie was born to the late Leroy and Shirley DeMey (Christiansen), Jan. 12, 1962, in Sioux City, IA. She graduated from East High School in 1980.

After high school, she worked in the deli at Economy Market for many years. She had many interests outside of caring for her family and four poodles. She enjoyed knitting, music, coloring books, and romance novels.

Anyone who knew her knew she loved her unicorn and wizard collections as much as she loved her family and friends.

Laurie would give you anything she could to help someone in need. She shared her soul with anyone who needed a friend. You knew you could rely on her with no judgment. She was a faithful friend and mother. She was a gift to all who knew her and it’s a huge loss to everyone that was blessed enough to get to love her.

Laurie is survived by her two children: Billy and Tony Soule both of Sioux City; two grandchildren: Carson and Chloe Hayes of Sioux City; two sisters: Lisa DeMey of Sioux City and Sharon Brandt of Patula, Oklahoma, two brothers: Lanny DeMey of Denison and Steven DeMey of Sioux City, several nieces and nephews and her ex husband William Soule of Sioux City.

Her parents and brother, Roger DeMey precede her in death. In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting memorials in her name be made to them.
