Larry Gene Weber Jr, age 52, of Sioux City passed away Sunday September 15, 2013 at a local hospital.
Memorial services will be held at 1:30 pm Saturday September 21 at the Dakota City Nebraska United Methodist Church with Pastor Rich Savage officiating. Inurnment will follow in the Dakota City Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be held one hour prior to the service. Waterbury Funeral Service is in charge of arrangements. Larry was born in Sioux City, Iowa on October 31, 1960 the son of Larry and Charlene “Wingett” Weber. Larry grew up in Dakota City and spent most of his life there. He worked as a cook at the Marina Inn for a few years, then he worked for more than 18 years as a cook at Hungary’s in Dakota City. He most recently was employed by United Vending in Sioux City until his illness forced his retirement in 2008.
Larry loved to fish, his two dogs, and was a collector of COKE memorabilia. He recently began carving wooden writing pens.
He was a member of the Dakota City United Methodist Church.
Larry will be missed by his family which includes his wife Rhonda of Sioux City, and his sister Peggy Durand of Omaha, Nebraska, along with his many friends.
