Larry K. Olson, 68, of Elk Point, SD, passed away on Wednesday, April 20, 2016 at Prairie Estates Healthcare Community in Elk Point. Per his wishes, Larry will be cremated and private family services will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Larry was born on November 17, 1947, the son of Lloyd and Connie (Holman) Olson. He graduated from high school in Sioux Falls, SD. Larry was a longtime member of the Local Union 33 Plumbers and Steamfitters. He was a great welder, who loved his job, but didn't want to admit when his eyesight was going. His fellow union brothers and sisters, lovingly nicknamed him "Leaky Larry" because of the leaky pipes that came with his fading vision. Larry loved riding and working on motorcycles, he also enjoyed watching football.

Survivors include his children, Allan (Jes Dekkers) Olson and their child, Maddox, of Sioux City and Amanda Smith and her children Alex Olson and Jade Medina; life partner, Toni Olson of Elk Point, SD; Allan and Amanda's mother, Diane Olson; and brothers, Joe (Lauren) Olson of Mississippi and Dave (Kathy) Olson of Tennessee.

Larry was preceded in death by his parents; and his brother, Jim.
