Larry W. Knight, Age 77 of Lyons, Nebraska passed away Wednesday, August 21, 2019 at Mercy hospital in Sioux City, IA surrounded by his family. Services will be held 2:00pm Monday, August 26, 2019 at the Full Life Church in Fremont, NE, 2380 Seaton Ave.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Larry Willard Knight was born January 24, 1942 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Willard and Lorraine (Stillman) Knight. He grew up in Sioux City, and attended East High School. Larry worked at IBP and Armar Packing and then worked at the Parks Department for the City of Sioux City; he then went to work for Prince Manufacturing until 1989.

He married Leota Carpenter on November 23, 1990 in Columbus, NE, From there moving to North Bend,Ne. where they enjoyed raising chickens, cutting wood and gardening .They then moved to White water, Kansas, and in 2017 settling in Lyons, Nebraska..

Larry enjoyed fishing, bowling, golfing, and playing cards with the grandchildren, watching westerns, and wood working. He would cut enough wood to last all year around for his wood burning furnace. Larry was a member of the First Assembly of God in Fremont, NE.

He is survived by his wife Leota of Lyons, NE, three sons; Delton (Sherry) Knight of Sioux City, IA, David Peterson (Patty) of Omaha, NE, Norman (Mickey) Holthe of Omaha, NE, six daughters; Cami Nagel of Sioux City, IA,Stacy (Kevin) Nichols of Sioux City, IA, Kimberly (Randy) Willms of Akron, IA, Micayla Freking of Augusta, KS, Crystal (Eric) Lindgren of Lyons, NE, Tatia (Kurt) Jackson of Bellevue, NE, 24 grandchildren, and 27 great grandchildren.

Larry is preceded in death by his parents, son, Troy Michael Knight, sister, Kay, and one son –in-law, Steve Freking.
