Obituary

Larry L. Jones, Sr., 78 of Sioux City, went home to his Lord and Savior and his beloved wife Jeanne on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at his residence. He will also be reuniting with his father, whom he lost at the age of 6 years old, and his mother.

Funeral Services will be held 10 am Wednesday July 28 St. Boniface Catholic Church with Rev. David Esquiliano and Rev. Jeremy Wind as co-celebrants. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery with a luncheon to follow at the church. A visitation with Rosary will be held one hour prior to service time at the church.

Larry Louis Jones was born on January 2, 1943 in Sioux City, the son of Louis and Vera (Barrett) Jones. Larry was employed at Schumacher Elevator at the time of his retirement. Larry dedicated his life to his wife Jeanne, his children, grandchildren and his great-grandchildren.

Larry was the mechanic to all the family vehicles, the hunter for hidden Wheeler Iron treasures, the one man pit crew to #52, the recipient of Jeanne’s pranks, the giver of smart aleck remarks or whatever he could do to make you smile and laugh.

Left to cherish his memories are his children, Angie and Les Lutter of Bronson, Chris and Butch Kiertzner of Vermillion, SD, Lari and Kenny Adair of Sioux City, Larry and Missy Jones of Sioux City, Jeanne and Marty Herrera of Bakersfield, CA, his grandchildren Lexi Bayley , Hayley Miller, Tucker Lutter, Shane Carl, Shawnna Kennedy, Kendra Kuchta, Ashley Adair, Shelby Adair, Isaiah Nelson, Elizabeth Cooley, Mike Jones, Abbey Jones, Hannah Jones, Glenn Dobson and Brooke Zepeda, great-grandchildren Asher, Lydia, Josiah, Micah, Bethany and baby Miller, John, Lily, baby Lutter, Kenny, Gwendolyn, Donnie, Hannah, Paul, William, James, Ariyah, Amaree, Elisha, Hunter, Ava, Zoey, Addison and his not to be forgotten Jerzi , and his cherished baby sister Theresa Jones DeLange (Paul DeLange) of Algona (he was her awesome brother, who gave her allowance weekly, and he received Father’s day gifts from her  and he walked her down the aisle for her wedding) and his brothers Mike, Frank and Joe Abramo, with many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by the love of his life Jeanne Jones, his father Louis Jones, mother Vera Foley and his best fur girl, Penny J.
