Larry J. "Jim" Harper, 47 of Sioux City, died Saturday, March 28, 2015 at a care facility in Sioux City.
Funeral services will be held 4 pm Thursday, April 2, 2015 at Heartland Community Baptist Church, with Pastor Gene Stockton officiating. Visitation 2-4 pm at the church with the family present.
Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave.
Larry James Harper Jr., better known as Jim, was born on June 20, 1967 in Chicago, IL to parents Nora L Harper and Larry James Harper Sr. Sadly, his father Larry Sr. and brother Dana Jackson preceded him in death.
Jim attended Roswell B. Mason of Chicago, IL and Proviso East High School in Maywood, IL.
Jim received Christ at an early age at One Way M.B. Church in Chicago, IL. In his mid-twenties he relocated to Sioux City, Iowa.
Jim loved spending time with his family. Also cars and fishing was his greatest hobbies.
God called him home on March 28, 2015 at Holy Spirit Home in Sioux City, Iowa with his devoted family and friends by his bedside.
Jim leaves to cherish his memory his devoted fiancé, Amy Merrigan; four daughters Kenisha and Tychiara Harper of Chicago IL, Alexis and Larryce Harper of Sioux City IA, one son Larry Harper, III, His parents Nora and George Goosby (stepfather) of Memphis TN and Bettie Harper (stepmother) of Willowbrook, IL, three brothers Gerard Heiskell of Chicago, IL, Gerald Heiskell of Sioux City, IA, and Eric (Cassidy) Harper of Broadview, IL, four sisters, Vanessa Butler of Memphis, TN,Tamarra Jackson-Pate of Chicago, IL, Tracey Harper of Memphis, TN, and Jennifer Goosby of Naperville, IL, one granddaughter Dereyon’na Branch, four sister in laws, and a loving mother in law Tina Angerman, three lifetime friends Edward Courts, Michael Stackhouse, Andre Bankhead and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.
