Larry Dean Fiala

Larry D. Fiala 86, of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Monday, November 3, 2025 in Sioux City. A graveside service with military honors will be held on Saturday, April 18 at 11:00 a.m. at Graceland Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.

Larry was born on October 27, 1939 to John and Julia (Soukup) Fiala in Sioux City. Larry served in the United States Army and was stationed in Germany from 1965 until 1968 when he received his honorable discharge.

He had a strong work ethic and worked from the time he was a young teenager. Larry was a member of the International Union of Operating Engineers, Local 234. After retiring, he enjoyed riding his motorcycle, and working in his yard on his acreage.

Larry is survived by his five nieces, Linda (Mike) Friis, Susan Johannsen, Vickie Fiala (Bob Taylor), Laura Behrens, and Cindy Bullard, and four nephews, Ron Hummel, Terry (Cindy) Hummel, John (Cindy) Fiala, and Tim (Deb) Hummel.

He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Betty Hummel Gunn, brother-in law, Keith Hummel, brother, Robert (Bob) Fiala, sister-in-law, Dorothy Fiala and nephew, Keith (Junior) Hummel.
