Obituary

Larry R. Derby, age 50, of Sioux City died Sunday October 3, 2010 at a Sioux City hospital of injuries sustained in a accident at work.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 am Friday October 8, 2010 at First United Methodist Church with Rev. Roger Madden officiating. Interment will be in Memorial Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held on Thursday from 4-8 pm with the family present from 6-8 pm at Waterbury Funeral Service.

Larry was born in Sioux City on March 9, 1960 the son of Lowell Dean and Julia Mae (McCue) Derby. He attended Sioux City Community Schools.

Larry was a lifetime resident of Sioux City. He enjoyed spending time with all of his family, He was a vivacious individual who worked hard, played hard and believed in living life to it’s fullest. He loved to garden, cook, fishing, and lifting weights. He really enjoyed making and eating his bean soup.

Larry will be missed by his family which includes his daughter Nicolle Winters of Omaha, NE. his special friend Tracy Winters of Sioux City and his best friend Shelly Derby. He is also survived by his mother Julia Derby of Sioux City, his two brothers: Fred Derby(Denise) and Jesse White both of Sioux City, his four sisters Marilyn Cooper(Sonny) of Jackson, NE.; Sharon Lerma(Alfredo) of Oklahoma City, OK.; Karen Hanson and Renee McCoy both of Sioux City, and his half brother Marvin Castle of Hornick, IA.

Larry was preceded in death by his father, and three sisters: Susan Priest, Goldie Henderson, and Mary Lou King,
