Larry K. Christiansen, 77, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, October 29, 2015 at a local hospital. Services will be held 11:00 am, Monday, November 2, 2015 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. A visitation will be held from 2:00 - 4:00 pm Sunday, November 1, 2015 at the funeral home. Burial will be at the Dow City Cemetery in Dow City, Iowa
Larry was born on August 4, 1938, in Denison, Iowa, the son of Raymond and Sylvia (Samuelson) Christiansen. Larry grew up in the Dow City, Iowa area and joined the United States Army in January 24, 1957 and was honorably discharged in October 26, 1959
Larry married Sandra Kay Brandt on January 14, 1959, together they had five children. They later divorced. Larry then married Mary Bearden on September 6, 1991, together they had two children. They later divorced.
Larry worked as a brick layer for Krokowski and Bennett Masonary for many years. He also work in maintenance for Park Bowl and at the Federal Building. Larry was a member of Redeemer Lutheran Church. Larry was an outdoorsman, he loved camping, fishing, hunting, and metal detecting.
Survivors include his children: Starla (Ron) Wacheldorf, Larry (Lisa) Christiansen, Brenda Hanner, Belinda (Chris) King, Brad (Jody) Christiansen, Cobi Christiansen, and Tyler Christiansen, all of Sioux City, brothers: Eugene Christiansen of Arion, Iowa, and Gailen (Phyllis) Christiansen of Sioux City, sisters Linda (Verle) McCutcheon of Dow City, and Peggy Varner of Sioux City, 17 grandchildren, and 14 great grandchildren.
Larry was preceded in death by his parents, one grandson, one brother, and three sisters.
