Kori Scott Hewitt, 48, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by his family at a local hospital. A celebration of his life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Kori was born on August 2, 1977 in Sioux City, IA to Roy and Shirley (Johnson) Hewitt. Kori had a strong attraction to building and fixing things from the moment he was old enough to hold a hammer. He was a talented worker that could do anything; including concrete, roofing, tiling, and new construction. He could do it all. This led him to own and operate his own business, KH Construction. He ran it until his illness forced him to retire. He met Mindy Coon and together they had 2 children, Jaycey and Ethan. He later met Suzie Russell and they had 1 daughter, Haylie. Kori enjoyed fishing, camping, playing pool league, and spending time with friends and family.

Those left to honor his memory include his mom, Shirley Hewitt; children: Jaycey (Josh) Barkley, Ethan Hewitt, and Haylie (Sendeska) Hewitt; siblings: Tonya (Rich) Ryhmer, Ginger (Josh) Hewitt, Heather Hewitt, Roy Hewitt Jr., Lane (Mckayla) Hewitt; his grandchildren, whom affectionately called him “Umpa”: Layton, Syler, Bransen, Aubriell, and Oakley; Grandma: Betty Johnson and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his Dad, aunts, uncles and cousins.
