Kevin J. Scherrman, 55, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at his home, following a long battle with cancer. Per his wishes, Kevin has been cremated and a celebration of his life will be 2:00 to 4:00 pm on Sunday, December 10, 2017 at Pierce Mansion, 2901 Jackson Street. The family requests all attending to dress casually and share memories. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed in Kevin's name to Hospice of Siouxland.

Kevin was born on March 30, 1962 in Norfolk, NE to John "Jack" and Patricia (Esser) Scherrman.
Kevin graduated from Sioux City Community Schools, and received a business degree from Morningside College. Kevin married Peggy Bauer in 1987, and to this union two children were born, Sara and Anthony; they later divorced.

Kevin was on a trip in Cozumel, Mexico where he met Mary Tipton. They have had an adventurous life together for the last seventeen years.

Kevin was on the Sioux City Fire Department for many years and also worked at KP Mortgage. He loved being outdoors, camping, canoeing, and traveling. Kevin was a fan of all sports, even coaching for many years. He was an avid fan of the Atlanta Falcons and Detroit Red Wings. Family was very important to Kevin, especially his own, but he was also involved with the Big Brother, Big Sister program.

Survivors include his wife, Mary; parents, Jack and Pat Scherrman; children, Sara (Troy) Risdal, Riley Tipton, Anthony (Elizabeth Foreman) Scherrman, and Hannah (Jordan) Holthus; siblings, Christopher Scherrman, Julie (Scott) Larson, Amy Scherrman, and Debra (Rick) Morey; grandchildren, Jenna, Parker, Jonnie, Ellie, Isaac, Avari, Dorian, Piper, and Elliott; many nieces and nephews; and other extended family and friends.
