Kevin R. Bennett, 49, of Sioux City, a son, brother, uncle, and friend, died on October 15, 2013 at a local hospital, surrounded by close family. Services will be held 10:00 am Saturday, October 26, 2013 at St. Luke Lutheran Church, 2039 S. St. Aubin Street, Sioux City, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service.
Kevin was born in Sioux City on March 4, 1964 to Don and Jean Bennett. He attended Sioux City Schools, graduating from East High School in May of 1982. On September 28, 1982 he entered the Army. He was especially proud of the honors he received while serving his country. He was stationed at Fort Benning with the 82nd Airborne Division and honorably discharged on July 26, 1986. Kevin was an over the road truck driver, and was currently a side dump driver for Hebert Construction. Corporal Kevin R. Bennett loved his family, his little buddy, Pemu, the Vikings, and to fish and camp with family and friends.
Kevin is survived by his parents, Don and Jean, two brothers Steven Bennett of Sioux City, David (Jen) Bennett of Seattle, WA., and four sisters Tami Cason, Teri (Scott) Thompson, Tracey (Pat Lawler) Muston all of Sioux City, and his twin sister Kelli (Steve) Bentson of Lawton, IA.; a stepson Justin Twiford and stepdaughter LouAnn Twiford Rice; grandfather Donald Struble of Onawa, IA.; and numerous aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his paternal grandparents Elizabeth and Harry Bennett and his maternal grandparents Norma Struble and Lloyd Barker.
