Kenneth J. Trudell, 79 of Correctionville, Iowa died Sunday, June 9, 2024 at a local care facility. Funeral services will be held Sunday, June 16, 2024 at 11 am at the Santee Community Center, with the Wake Service starting 3 pm Friday at the Center. Burial will be at the L'Eau Qui Court in Niobrara, Nebraska.

Kenneth Joseph Trudell was born on March 29, 1945 in Omaha, Nebraska the son of William and Marie (Moose) Trudell. Kenneth was raised in the south bottoms of Sioux City and later the family moved to South Sioux City. He was married to Leona for 18 years. He later was married to Josephine in 1984. She died in 2007.

Ken was in the Army National Guard for a short time until he got badly hurt in a parachute accident.  He trained in Sioux City, Iowa to be a police officer then went on to work as a Tribal Police officer in Macy, Santee, Bismark, Pine Ridge (during the Riots) and later in Tacoma, Washington. He worked as a mechanic for trio auto for a time. A truck driver and a mover for Mayflower in California.

Ken enjoyed hunting and fishing, watching westerns, and movies about Bigfoot. He was most happy visiting with family and friends and having cook outs. He would spend hours taking about his adventures to his grandkids. He really loved helping decorate for Christmas and Halloween his favorite Holidays.

Ken is survived by his daughters, Rose Trudell, Lucile Case, Tina Winterfield, Mary Reinert and Denise Svoboda; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; and his brother, Anthony Trudell.

He was preceded in death by his parents, first wife Leona Laferriere, third wife Josephine (Broock), 3 sisters Ann Robert's, Lavia (Bunny) Prue, Roberta Babcock and 2 grandkids Cheyenne and Frankie and Great granddaughter Madison.
