Keith Richard Weitzel

Keith R. Weitzel, 71 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away unexpectedly Saturday, November 15, 2025 at a local hospital. A Celebration of Life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Keith Richard Weitzel was born on July 15, 1954 in Sioux City, Iowa he was the son of Walter and Eileen (Dorman) Weitzel. He attended school in Sioux City, Iowa. Keith had a strong work ethic, as he worked 20 years in the salvage business. Over the years Keith battled with mental health problems, but he did not let that stop him.

He was an avid bowler during the 1970’s till the mid 1980’s. He enjoyed fixing cars, watching and going to the car races. Keith was a kindhearted man and will be missed by many. He loved any and all dogs.

Keith is survived by his three brothers: Loren, William (Lori), and Brent (Fay), and sister, Mary Maeller.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Eileen; son, Chris Merchant; and a brother, Thomas.
