Keith L. Smith, 92, of Sioux City, IA, passed away October 13, 2024, at a local care center.  A funeral service will be held Monday, October 21, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Military honors will be provided by the United States Army.

Keith was born on March 27, 1932, in Inman, NE to Charles and Estella (Hopkins) Smith.  Keith was in the United States Army from 1952-1954, before being honorably discharged from Fort Sheridan, Illinois.  He was united in marriage to Rosemary Hayden on July 29, 1954, in Prescott, Arizona. They stayed in Arizona for about a year, before moving to Sioux City.  Keith worked as a common laborer in Sioux City, California, Washington, then back in Sioux City, before retiring from the City of Sioux City.

Keith enjoyed playing the guitar and banjo and would play in bands at community events.  He also sang and played with family members at reunions.

Those left to honor his memory include his three sons: Myron Smith and his wife Susan, Larry Smith, all of Sioux City, Lonnie Smith, of Sioux Falls, SD; daughter, Connie and her husband Mark Bauer of Sioux City; brother, Nolan Smith and his wife Judy, of Arkansas; 13 grandchildren and numerous great-grandchildren; and many other relatives and many friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; wife, Rosemary I. Smith; son, Jody Smith; daughter, Lori Gabriel; siblings: Clifford Smith, Violet Smith, Kent Smith, Marlene Gordon, Jimmy Smith, and Michael Smith.
