Kay A. Huisman, 79 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at her home surrounded by her family. Celebration of life will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Kay Alicia Huisman was born December 6, 1941 in Sioux City, IA the daughter of Nile and Mary (Smith) York. She graduated from Central High School in 1959. Kay married Dennis Huisman on February 19, 1960 and together they made their home in South Sioux City, NE. She worked at Woolco, Sunshine (which later it became the Super Value), and Dollar General until retiring at the age of 71.

Kay enjoyed going boating on the river, gardening, mowing, taking care of the yard, sewing, and in her younger years she loved dancing.

She is survived by her husband, Dennis of 61 years, three daughters, Tammy (Dennis) Rettkowski of Kennewick, WA, Susan (Andrew) Merrigan, and Rachel (Robert) Treglia both of Sioux City, IA, one brother, Randy (Lynette) York of Mt. Pleasant, Tx., five grandchildren, Tanya (Don) Olson of West Richland, WA, Bobbie Williams of Sioux City, IA, Trevor Treglia of Tucson, AZ, Tanner (Sami) Treglia of Sioux City, IA, Teagan Treglia of Sioux City, IA, and three great children, Brody, Bentley, and Charlie of all Sioux City, IA.

Kay is preceded in death by her parents, and one brother, Lanny York.
