Kathleen "Kathy" Kunze, 79, passed away Thursday, March 23, 2023 at Countryside Healthcare Center in Sioux City, Iowa. Services will be held at 10:30 a.m. on Monday, March 27, 2023 at Waterbury Funeral Service, 4125 Orleans Avenue, Sioux City. Visitation will be held one hour prior to service time. Burial will be at Spring Valley Cemetery, Moorehead, Iowa.

Kathy was born Saturday, July 17, 1943 in Onawa, Iowa to Theodore and Hollis (Solberg) Hamilton. She went to school in Onawa. Kathy married Gary Kunze in 1964. He passed in 2015. Kathy worked as a medical assistant for many years. She opened her hearts to many foster boys, about 67, over the years and adopted 12 of them. Kathy enjoyed visits from family, crossword puzzles and playing Words with Friends.

Kathy is survived by 14 sons; 17 grandchildren; 8 great great-grandchildren and her nieces and nephews.

Kathy was preceded in death by her parents and husband Gary.
