Kathleen M. Johns, 64, of Omaha, formerly of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, October 31, 2017 at her residence. Celebration of Life will be held 11:30 am on Saturday, November 4, 2017 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City. A visitation with family will be held one hour prior to service time at the funeral home. Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given to a charity of your choosing. The family suggests to any hospice organization or towards lung cancer research.
Kathy was born October 21, 1953 in Sioux City, IA the daughter of Albert and Alice (Solomon) Johns. The family lived in the Hinton area, where Kathy graduated from high school in 1971. Following high school, Kathy attended business school in Spencer, Iowa. She worked in the office at Cloverleaf Cold Storage in Sioux City for 20 plus years. When Kathy moved to Omaha, she worked in the office at Millard Refrigeration for many years, and lastly at Foley Carrier Services, before falling ill.
Kathy loved spending time with her family and going to casinos; but above all, she was an avid Nebraska Huskers Football fan.
Kathy leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. There is not one bad memory among her family, because her love was persistent and her smile ever present.
Those left to cherish her memory: siblings, Kenneth (Mary) Johns, Jo Ann Carlson, Marvin Johns, and Beverley Landon; sister in law, Rosejean Smith; several nieces and nephews; and her large Omaha support family.
Kathy was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James Johns; and brothers in law, Dick Carlson and Pete Landon.
