Kathleen was born December 24, 1926 to Henry and Catherine Jacoby of Mapleton, Iowa. She attended and graduated from Saint Mary’s Catholic School in Mapleton.
For a number of years, she worked as a homemaker on the family farm. She eventually moved to Sioux City with her son, where she enjoyed employment with the Nabisco Cookie Company. Later, to her son’s delight, she was employed by the Palmer Candy Company.
Kathleen loved people and made it a point to find time to do volunteer work in her community. In her "spare" time she dabbled in some crafts, but was especially fond of crocheting. In her later years, Kathleen especially enjoyed interacting with her many friends at the Senior Center, dancing, playing bingo, and spending time with her special friend, Lavern Harder.
Kathleen is survived by her son, Joseph Jacoby and wife Charlotte of Oklahoma, four granddaughters, Alicia Jacoby, Dana Stewart, Shannon Martin, and Tiffany McCann, nine great grandchildren, and one great-great grandson. Additional surviving family members include two sisters, Isabel Steele of Ida Grove, Teresa Diimig of Danbury and numerous nieces and nephews.
Kathleen was preceded in death by her parents, five brothers and two sisters. In lieu of flowers, the family respectfully requests that a donation be made in her honor, to your favorite charity.
