Karlee Sue Cooley, age 63, of Sioux City died Saturday at a local hospital.
Funeral services will be held on Wednesday March 16,2011 beginning at 10:00 am at the Sergeant Bluff American Legion Hall with interment following in Memorial Park cemetery. Visitation will be on Tuesday from 4-8pm with the family present from 6-8 at Waterbury Funeral Service.
Karlee was born August 19, 1947 in Sioux City, Iowa to Ralph and Fern (Daily) Holley. She grew up in Sioux City and graduated from Central High School. Karlee attended some college in California, and lived on a Naval Base in Virginia for a little over a year when she was first married. The rest of her life was spent in Sioux City. Karlee married Richard Plueger on December 20, 1967, they later divorced. She married Wilbert Cooley on August 21, 1990, and they later divorced.
Karlee loved camping, fishing, painting, crafts, t.v. and computers, but the number one love in her life was spending time with family.
Survivors include her daughters Dawn Gustavson (Marvin) of Anthon, Hollie Korthals of Sioux City, Sheila Holloway of Omaha, Shelly Cooley, and Sabrina Cooley of Sioux City, son James Cooley of Lawton, Iowa, brother Alvin Holley (Shirley) of Lodi, California, sister Karen Smith (Ronald) of Sioux City, grandchildren: Bonnie and Chris, Marvin, Chase and Amie, Rachel and Eric, Ashly and Daniel, James, Trinity, Shaylee, Kyle, Michia, Tyler, Kaysha, Tiana, Todd and Kaylie, Taylor, Samantha, Joshua, and Nikole, 16 great-grandchildren, and a family friend, Paul.
Karlee was preceded in death by her parents and three sisters: Norma Jessip, Shirley Ploof, and Lois Scheil.
Pallbearers will be Marvin Hofeldt, James Gustavson, Chase Jacobson, Chris Galinsky, Eric Norton, and Todd Cooley.
