Karen Lynette Pearl Wright

Karen Lynette Pearl Wright, 58, of Sergeant Bluff, IA, passed away Tuesday, October 6, 2026. A family gathering will be held on Saturday, October 24th at 1:00pm at Salix City Hall. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Karen was born on October 18, 1967 in Sioux City, IA to Wayne and Kenna Mae (Keairns) Owens. Karen graduated from East High School in 1986. On June 3, 1989, Karen was united in marriage to Dennis Wright and shared a loving 37 years of marriage together. Karen worked as a waitress at Palmer House, took calls at MCI, and at Great West Casualty. 

She enjoyed knitting, playing board games, cooking her BBQ ribs and collecting ceramic angels.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Dennis Wright; daughter, Marinda Wright; two sisters, Terry Stangl and Laura (Bruce) Duerksen; brother in law, Bud Larsen; many nieces, nephews and relatives

She was preceded in death by her parents, Wayne and Kenna Owens; brother, Russel Owens; and sister, Jodi Larsen.
