Karen “Lucy” Lucile McMahon, 76, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family on Friday, May 9, 2025, at Holy Spirit Retirement Home. A memorial mass will be held Saturday, May 17, at 10:30 a.m. with a visitation 1 hour prior at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Karen was born on June 15, 1948, in Sioux City, Iowa to Elmer “Mickey” and Vivian (Wynn) Colt. She was united in marriage to Vince McMahon on March 4, 1967. Together they enjoyed spending time outside, camping on the river, coaching their children’s softball teams, and attending their children and grandchildren’s many sporting events and activities.

Karen had a fun, entertaining personality and willingness to help anyone. She loved to cook and dance, play bingo, cribbage, and card games, and especially loved being around her grandchildren and great-grandchildren. Her work ethic was exceptional, and she took pride in the service she provided as a waitress to her customers over the years: first at her grandparents’ then parents’ restaurant, Ted’s Cafe, which later became Harvey's in Riverside, Harvey’s Restaurant, and Horizon Restaurant. She will be greatly missed.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, daughters: Christine (Frank) Riley and Nancy McMahon; grandchildren: Makayla Derochie, Shayler (Kelley) Levine, K.C.-Karen Catherine Riley-Schweer (Tanner) Schweer, Sheehan (Hannah) Levine, Vince (fiance, Maggie Steinkamp) Riley, Cam (Janela De Arcos) Levine; great grandchildren: Makiye Davis, JaKobe and JaKari Jones, Declan Schweer, Ariel, Henrick, Torin, and Mila Levine; siblings: Terry (Marlene) Colt, Wendy Nason, Kathy (Bill) Poshard, and Ernie (Terri) Colt; sisters-in-law, Norma Colt, Patty McMahon, and Mary Helen Beauchene, and brothers-in-law, Ray McMahon, Ron Beauchene, Milt Bristol, and Jerry Mount; and many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents, mother and father-in law Vince and Maxine McMahon, daughters, Shelly, Kelly, and Colleen McMahon, brother Ted Colt, sisters Debbie Bristol, Denise Powers, Pamela Mount, and Carrie Lynn Dunne, sister-in-law Theresa Hein, brothers-in-law, Dale Hein and Mike McMahon, nephews Tim Colt and Rickie Lee Keleher, and niece Jessica Powers.
