Karen Kay Jeffries

Karen Kay Jeffries, 76, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family on August 3, 2026. A celebration of her life will be held Monday, August 10 from 12:00 -3:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Karen was born on January 1, 1950 in Carroll, IA to Theodore and Maxine (Webster) Streed. Karen worked as a traveling hotel manager. She enjoyed her plants, gardening, and woodworking. She could always be found with her feet up on the table, smoking a Pall Mall and sipping ice tea. She loved spending time with her grandchildren and her dog, Kali.

Those left to honor her memory include her children: Drew (Missy) Mickelson and Brandy (Donnie) Streed; brothers: Kim (Theresa) Streed and Kirk Streed; grandchildren: Kassidy (Ethan) Curtis, Reese (Trevor Ruhrer) Goodrich, Kenzie Bergenske, Knox Janssen; bonus granddaughter, Natalia Dunnington; great-granddaughters: Haisley and Eliza Ruhrer; and a great-grandson, Theodore Curtis; as well as several nieces, nephews and countless children she took in over the years.

She is preceded in death by her parents: Theodore Streed and Maxine Webster, as well as her stepmother, Yvonne Streed.
