Karen Marie Froehlich, 82, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by her family on January 16, 2025.  A funeral mass will be held Saturday, January 25, 2025, at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation from 9-10:00 at St. Joseph Catholic Church.  Burial will be at Memorial Park Cemetery.  Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Karen was born on July 29, 1942 in Toulon, IL to Frank and Florence (Sentney) Garrison.  She graduated from high school in Aledo, IL and was united in marriage to Frank J. Froehlich on February 6, 1965 in Rock Island, IL.  The couple lived in Rock Island and then Iowa City, before moving to Sioux City in 1973.  Karen enjoyed sewing, crocheting, and reading.  She was an excellent quilter and would make quilts for each of the grandchildren as they graduated high school.

Those left to honor her memory include her husband, Frank Froehlich; children: Shara Bras, Barry (Melissa) Froehlich, Jayna (Joe) Johnson, Jon (Donnie) Froehlich; 24 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her parents; brother, Gerry Garrison; sister, Judy Burrill; and son-in-law, Douglas Bras.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Bishop Heelan Catholic School.
