Karen L. Brown, 68 of Sioux City, died Sunday, October 20, 2013 at Mercy Medical Center surrounded by her family.

Services will be 10 am Thursday, October 24, 2013 at Waterbury Funeral Service. Burial will be in Graceland Park Cemetery. Visitation Wednesday 4-7 pm with family present from 6-7 pm at the funeral home. Online condolences may be sent to www.waterburyfuneralserviceinc.com.

Karen was born on June 18, 1945 in Storm Lake, Iowa, the daughter of Paul and Millie (Hudson) Brown. She was raised and educated in Storm Lake. During the 1970’s, Karen moved to Sioux City. She worked at Goodwill Industries in Sioux City for the past 13 years, and retired on June 18, 2011.

Karen enjoyed being with her family. Karen her “Women’s Day Out”, which consist of going out with family and friends for lunch and getting her nails manicured. Her pet parakeet Baby and her dog Chester.

Karen is survived by her sister Evelyn Brown of Sergeant Bluff; and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents.
