Kaleb was born on October 3, 2006, in Sioux City, Iowa, to Mike and Molly (Tobias) Pendergast. He graduated from Sergeant Bluff High School in the spring of 2025. During high school, Kaleb participated in wrestling and football, achieving great success in both. He advanced to the state level in football, team wrestling, and individual wrestling. He formed strong bonds with his teammates, who became like brothers to him, especially Zay Ellington and Bo Koedam.

Kaleb’s life was rooted in a strong faith in God. He grew spiritually through his bible study group at Sunnybrook and was deeply influenced by his leaders, Blake and Spencer. His faith guided how he lived and how he loved others.

Kaleb had a love for adventure and the outdoors. He received his first dirt bike at the age of four, sparking a lifelong passion for motorsports. During the summers, he worked at Combined Pool and Spa, where he was known for his strong work ethic and outgoing personality, making him well-liked by coworkers and customers alike.

Kaleb had a big heart and a confident, charismatic presence. He was talkative and adventurous, never met a stranger, and carried himself with an easy self-assurance that drew people in. He cared deeply for his family and friends and was always willing to help others.

Those left to honor his memory include his parents, Mike and Molly Pendergast; his brother, Kamden Pendergast, of Sergeant Bluff, IA; his grandparents, Phil and Kathy Tobias of Sioux City, Iowa, and Rae Pendergast of South Sioux City, Nebraska; and many aunts, uncles, and cousins, including: Trevor and Amy Tobias of Fort Calhoun, Nebraska, and their children, Connor and Nathan; Todd and Allison Tobias of Bennington, Nebraska, and their children, Mallory and Max; Matt and Stacy Tobias of Sioux Falls, South Dakota, and their children, Caden and Lucas; Bobbie and Rob Borchers of Omaha, Nebraska, and their children, Brandon, Alex and Kylee, Noah and Ashley, Brittany and Michael Yardley and their children, Mack, Naomi, Carlin, and Kit; Shelia and Jeff Herfel of Jackson, Nebraska, and their children, Justin, Jamie, and Kayla; Lisa and Chris Elsten of North Platte, Nebraska, and their children, Tyler and Liz Elsten, and their children, Solomon and Roslyn, Michael and Ashley Elsten, Matthew and Makayla Elsten, Andrew Elsten and his daughter, Addison; Jolene and Tyler Sanne of Plainview, Nebraska and their daughter Hannah.
