Julie A. Martin, 63, of Sioux City, passed away Tuesday, May 3, 2016 at a local hospital. Services will be held at 1:00 pm, Saturday, May 7, 2016 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City, 4125 Orleans Ave. A visitation will begin one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Burial will be at a later date. Casual attire requested by the family.

Julie was born on May 28, 1952, in Sioux City, the daughter of Keith and Dorothy (Watterson) Adams. She graduated from Heelan Catholic High School in 1970. Julie married Michael Martin on October 30, 1970 in Sioux City.

Julie was a stay at home mom until her sons went to school, then she worked at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church lunch program with her mother, Dorothy, for ten plus years. She spent much of her time raising exotic birds and collecting various items, including Beanie Babies, Boyds Bears, and Precious Moments. Julie loved spending time with her family and watching her sons and grandsons play sports. She was an avid Chicago Cubs, Dallas Cowboys, and NASCAR fan.

Survivors include her husband, Michael Martin; sons, Shane (Sara) Martin and Derek Martin; grandsons, Kane, Gage, and Mason, all of Sioux City; sisters, Jenny Abraham of Omaha, NE and Jane Hockett of Sioux City; and her beloved dogs, Zoe and Zelda.

Julie was preceded in death by her parents, and brothers-in-law, Art Abraham and Danny Hockett.
