Julia Ann Godfrey, 70 of Sioux City, died Monday, January 29, 2018.

Services will be held 2 pm Friday at the Santee Community Center in Santee, Nebraska. Burial will be in Howe Creek Cemetery, Center, Nebraska. Wake times began 7 pm Tuesday and will continue through until service time at the Santee Community Center.

Julia was born on February 6, 1947 in Niobrara, Nebraska, the daughter of Emil and Julia (John) Goodteacher. The family moved to Sioux City in 1956. Julia was married to Harold Drapeau for over 40 years.

Julia was a certified nurse’s aide at Matney Nursing Home and later Holy Spirit Retirement Community. Julia enjoyed making jewelry but mostly she loved spending time with her grandchildren, Julia was an amazing cook. She was always kind and caring towards others she always put her family first and loved by many.

Survivors include her sons Nelson Godfrey and Gaylan Godfrey, her daughters Jacqueline Goodteacher, Anjanette Godfrey, Leann Godfrey, Esther Godfrey and Adrienne Godfrey her brothers, Elmer Goodteacher, Emil Goodteacher, Jr., Charles Goodteacher and Thomas Goodteacher, her sisters, Priscilla Brandt, Theresa DeCory and Sharon Yellowcloud, and numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents Emil and Julia Goodteacher, her brothers Jerry and Roger Goodteacher and sister, Joanie Goodteacher.
