Judy Ann Thompson, 75, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, October 13, 2016 at her residence. Per her wishes, Judy will be cremated and a memorial Service will be held at a later date. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Judy was born on February 9, 1941 in Sioux City, the daughter of Darwin Jones and Mary Webb. Judy grew up in Sioux City and graduated high school from Paramount, CA in 1959.
Judy married George Thompson in 1967, together they moved to Colorado. While in Colorado, Judy worked as an executive administrator at Dresser Oil Company. They family also owned and operated Eye Pieces Optical, with multiple locations in Colorado. Judy and George later divorced, and Judy moved back to Sioux City in 1985.
Judy was a very fashionable lady and was always dressed to the nines! She enjoyed shopping and loved spending time with her family.
Survivors include her children, Deb (Randy) Dillon of Bancroft, NE, Gary Burton of Sioux City, and Glenn (Jeff Evenson) Hase of Morehead, MN; brother, Jim Huisman of Anthon, IA; grandchildren, April Klundt, Billy Ransom, Jr., Joseph, Sam, and Zachary Ficenec; and great grandchildren, Austin, Ian, Madison Klundt, and Dede, Isaiah, and Olene Ransom.
Judy was preceded in death by her parents.
Memorials may be directed in Judy's name to Care Initiatives Hospice.
