Judy Lynn Neal, 72, of Sioux City, IA, passed away peacefully early Tuesday morning December 19, 2023 at her residence surrounded by her 3 sons and other family members. A memorial service will be held Friday, December 22 at 4:00 p.m. at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Judy was born on October 9, 1951 in Sioux City, Iowa to Kenneth and JoAnne (Davis) Barker. She graduated from South Sioux City High School. For 26 years she was married to Robert Larry Neal and in that union had 3 sons. She then spent many years with her partner Gary Mansfield until his passing. Judy worked in the cafeteria at St. Luke’s hospital and discount liquor for many years. After retiring from Wells Blue Bunny she worked part time at Morningside College where she enjoyed conversating with students. She enjoyed gambling, cooking, singing, spending time with her family and taking care of people. In her last years her favorite place to be was V.I.P. gaming lounge where she was loved by the entire staff. She was a feisty woman who was always straight-forward with good intentions.
Those left to honor her memory include her sons: Dennis, Rob and Mark Neal; grandchildren: Devin W. (Teddi), Devin P., Keely, Natalie, Nick, Hannah, Kendall, Mason, and Lily Neal; 2 great-granddaughters Layla and Emma and a great grandson expected in May; Mother’s of Grandchildren: Trudy, Micki, Kelsey and Amy; siblings: Jean Kelley, Joe, Mary and Linda Barker, Ron Blake, Tammy Symons and John Bunning; close cousin Brian Barker; and numerous nieces, nephews and the many others that called her mom.
She is preceded in death by her parents, brothers Kenny and Jerry, ex husband Larry and partner Gary.
