Juana Zermeno, 53, of Sioux City, passed away Thursday, September 26, 2019 at her residence. Funeral Service will be held at 10:00 am on Tuesday, October 1, 2019 at the Cathedral of the Epiphany. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery following services. A visitation will begin one hour prior to service time at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Juana was born on September 12, 1966 in Mexico, the daughter of Pedro and Sofia Zermeno. In 1982, the family moved to Chicago, and then moved to Sioux City in 1991. Juana married Ezequiel Vasquez, they later divorced.
Juana worked at Global Foods for close to twenty-five years, recently retiring due to illness. While working at Global Foods, she met the love of her life, Mark. Juana loved spending time with family, especially her grandchildren. She also enjoyed taking walks with Mark and her dog companion, Max.
Survivors include her parents, Pedro and Sofia; significant other, Mark Riescheick; children, Jaime (Jolene), Vaneza, Maurisio, and Mayra; siblings, Gilberto, Veronica, Ramon, Pedro, Maria de Jesus, Jose, and Graciela; grandchildren, Angel, Jasmine, Ruben, Ariyanna, Cruz, and Liliana; and many other extended family members.
Juana was preceded in death by her brother, Juan Pablo.
