Juan Manuel Magallanes, Jr., 34 of Sioux City, Iowa passed away Wednesday October 26, 2022, surrounded by his family. Wake Services will start 7:00pm Friday October 28, 2022, at St. Paul’s Indian Mission and will continue until Service time 10:00am Saturday October 29, 2022. Burial will be in Hobu Creek Cemetery, Lindy Ne.
Juan was born March 1, 1988, to Tracy (Nieman) and Juan Magallanes Sr. in Sioux City, Ia. He lived most of his life in Sioux City, and the tri-state area, living briefly in Mexico with his father. He was a brave and adventurous soul, some may even say, a gentle giant. Despite many challenges and hindrances in his life, that never stopped or deterred him from going above and beyond for his family and friends. Juan was always there to lend a helping hand at all times.
He was a high school graduate and North High Alumni, one of his many achievements in his shortened time. Juan was a loving and kind spirit who spent most of his time being a wonderful brother and amazing uncle to his nieces and nephews. Juan was a simple and selfless young man who would always put so many in front of himself. His determination and perseverance through life will always be inspiring and admirable to everyone who knew him.
Juan is survived by his brothers and sisters, Rudy Castro, Elizabeth Castro, Rosario Magallanes, and Thomas Wambi White. Nieces and Nephews, Allan and Andrew Castro; Rachel, Stephanie, Daniel Chavez-Castro, and Cristian Lara, three Aunts, Sandra Guadarrama, Lesley Nieman and Lori Nieman all of Sioux City, IA., as well as many other family members.
He is proceeded in death by his Mother Tracy Magallanes; Sister Baby Grace; Nephew Carlos Jr.; and his Grandparents Doris Nieman and John Prichard.
