Joyce Marie Foster, 87, of North Sioux City, SD, passed away Surrounded by her family on September 8, 2025. A mass of Christian burial will be held Saturday, September 13 at 10:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Sacred Heart Catholic Church. Burial will be at Graceland Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.
Joyce Marie Foster, beloved mother, grandmother, sister and friend, passed away peacefully at home on September 8, 2025, at the age of 87.
Born in Stevens, South Dakota, Joyce was the second of seven children to Charles and Laura Streeter. She graduated from Jefferson High School in 1955. Through her marriage to Raymond Foster, they had four children, which she raised on McCook Lake, South Dakota – a place that became the backdrop for countless family memories.
Joyce was known for her servant heart and her infectious energy. She was the life of every party, often found twirling across the dance floor or hosting gatherings. To say she loved to cook and bake is an understatement—no one ever left her home hungry.
A long-time member of the South Sioux City Eagles, the Sioux City Senior Community Center, and Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Joyce poured her time and talents into her community. Her generosity knew no bounds—she would give you her last penny, her warmest hug, and a slice of pie, all with that unforgettable laugh.
Joyce was a tireless worker and a spirited adventurer. She adored playing cards, wearing bold, joyful jewelry, and surrounding herself with the people she loved most. Her home was always open, her heart always full.
Her legacy lives on in the laughter of her family, the traditions she passed down, and the countless lives she touched with her kindness, humor, and zest for life.
Joyce is survived by her children Kenneth Foster, Julie Foster-Moore, Susan Bose, and Jeffery Foster; her siblings Sharon Culbertson, Robert Streeter, John Streeter and Gene Streeter; her grandchildren Jennifer Ewing, Kayce Foster, Noelle (Scott) Lamoreux, Marissa Bose, Kenzie (Taylor) James, and Chase Foster; her great-grandchildren Hunter Ewing, Gunner Ewing, Madeline Bergmann, Carter Lamoreux, Lillian Bergmann, Sophia Ewing, Harper Lamoreux, Norah Bergmann; and two great-great-grandsons.
Preceded in death by her parents Charles and Laura Streeter; brothers Raymond Streeter and Donald Streeter; granddaughters Crystal Bose and Brandy Bergmann; grandson-in-law Ron Ewing.
