Joyce C. Miller

Joyce Miller, 96, died Sunday June 14th, at her home. Joyce was born at home in Danbury, Iowa, on March 12th, 1930, the second youngest of ten. She began her public school education in a one room rural school house and attended schools in Correctionville and Sgt. Bluff before graduating from High School in 1948. 

Joyce grew up with little and was working in the fields at a young age along with her brother Merle, to help their mother through the difficult time of the depression. One of her favorite things growing up was finding wild plums with brother Merle going to and from school. 

She worked for a number of years as a bookkeeper at Kmart. Joyce enjoyed wildlife, gardening, and just being outdoors. She was a great Mom. 

She is survived by three sons, Keith, Brian (Leola), and Scott, Two grandchildren Jason and Thad (Michelle), along with 3 great grandchildren, Mason, Reese and Colton. She was preceded in death by daughter-in-law Connie Miller, and all nine of her siblings. 

An informal visitation for family and friends will be held Tuesday June 23rd at Waterbury Funeral Home in Morningside at 11:00 a.m. She will be laid to rest following the service in Liston cemetery in Danbury, Iowa.
