Obituary

Joshua M. "Joshy" Schwedler, 25, of Sioux City died Thursday, Sept. 12, 2013, at his residence.
Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday, September 17 at Morningside Church of Christ, 5015 Garretson Ave., in Sioux City. Burial will be in Logan Park Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be 11:30 a.m. until service time Tuesday, at the church. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service in Sergeant Bluff.

Joshy was born on Sept. 20, 1987, in Sioux City, to Vicki Schwedler and Terry Orr. Joshy graduated from Pine Ridge High School in Deltona, Fla. in 2006. He studied excavating and graduated from Job Core in Kentucky.

Joshy was united in marriage to Abbee Dorr (the only woman he loved) on Nov. 8, 2008. In 2008, their son, Keagan, was born. In 2012, their son, Aiden, was born. His sons were the reason he lived so long.

He joined the U.S. Marine Corps in 2007. He served four four years of active duty and had been honorable discharged as a corporal. In 2012, he graduated truck driving school at Western Iowa Tech Community College. He then was employed through Heyl for a short period of time.
Joshy was a happy straight forward person and loved being himself. Out of most of the things he accomplished, being a Marine was his proudest, serving as a Marine was an honor to him. He also enjoyed every inch of the road as a truck driver. His dream was cut short after being diagnosed with epilepsy. Two words that best describe Joshy are spontaneous and cheesy.

He loved playing with his sons, howling with his dogs, tinkering with lawn mowers with his brother, Ray and uncle, Dave, picking on his wife, and being his grandma's fix-it man. He also enjoyed the times with his cousins, Michael and Cassy Thompson (godparents to his sons). Joshy also cherished his mother, Vicki, felt his brothers, Jay and Ray were his best friends, and his uncle, Mike (Debbie) Tague was his backbone. He also was thankful for Grandma and Grandpa Steine, who taught him so much and Unkey Dave for the understanding yet firm hand.

Survivors include his wife, Abbee; his sons, Keagen and Aiden; his mother, Vicki Schwedler of Sioux City; his father, Terry Orr of Sioux City; his brothers, Ray Schwedlerof Sioux City, and Jay Schwedler of Albuquerque, N.M.; his second dad, Chad (Lori) Tague and family of Sioux City; his like sisters, Tiffany (Brad) Leckband, and Susie (Tim) Anderson; his grandparents, Lowell and Darlene Steine; his grandmother, Sylvia Huber; his mother-in-law, Joanne (Dan) rose; sisters-in-law, Francee (Wiseman) Bell, and Stacee Peterson; a brother-in-law, Bobby Dorr; his father-in-law, Bob (Darlene) Dorr; several close cousins that he considered to be siblings; and many aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his grandfather, Donald Huber; his uncles Rick Huber and Emmet Orr; cousins, Mary and Shantel Orr; his aunts, Barbara Blake, Kathy Huber and Chris Thompson; and uncle, Michael Thompson.

There is an account set up for donations for his wife and sons at Telco Triad Community Credit Union.
