Joshua Leroy Mapes, 41, of Sioux City, IA, passed away surrounded by his family at a local hospital on September 6, 2026. A celebration of his life will be held Sunday, September 13, 2026 at 2:00 p.m. at Sinners Lounge, 1427 W. 3rd St, Sioux City, IA. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Joshua was born on November 13, 1984 in Sioux City, IA to Phillip Titus and Brenda Mapes. Joshua was a hard worker and cooked for Horizon restaurant for several years. He enjoyed fishing, camping, the Colts and his dogs. He loved spending time with his nephews and will be deeply missed. To everyone, anywhere, at anytime that struggles with alcoholism, addiction, mental illness, or just trying to navigate this world... I beg you to reach out, even if you feel you don’t deserve it. Especially then, you don’t have to do it alone. The universe created a space for you in this world for a reason…You Matter.

Those left to honor his memory include his parents: Brenda Mapes and Phillip Titus; sisters: Crystal Titus and Stormy Mapes; and nephews: Ethan and Eli Hathaway.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents: Alvin Mapes and Pauline Wressler; and uncle, Rick Gabriel.
