Josephine Mary Mildenberger passed away peacefully in her sleep on February 2, 2021 at the age of 97.  She will be cremated and will share the gravesite with her husband.  Celebration of Life will be held 1:00pm Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the Calvary Cemetery in Sioux City. Reception to follow at the Sioux City Museum from 2-4pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sergeant Bluff.

Born Josephine Pirog, she met and married Antone Peter (Bud) Mildenberger in 1948.  They moved to Colorado and worked the family farm for several years before returning to Sioux City and raised 4 children. Bud passed away in 1997 after 48 years of marriage.

Jo worked in ammunitions factory in Detroit, MI during WWII after which she returned to Sioux City to work in a local meat packing company before meeting Bud. She was a resident of Pleasant View Care Center in Whiting, IA where she had resided for several years.

Jo is survived by her children, Joe and his wife Jan, Paula and her deceased husband Patrick, MaryJo and her husband, Robert and Roxanne and her husband Gary, 8 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Josephine was also preceded in death by a sister, Julia, and two brothers, John and Joseph.
