Joseph ‘Joe’ Mills, 65, of Nashville, TN.,  formerly of Sioux City died Tuesday, July 20 in Sioux City. Services will be 11:00 Friday, July 23, 2021 at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

Joe was born February 23, 1956 in Sioux City, Iowa the son of Max and Betty (Julius) Mills.  He grew up in Sioux City, graduating from North High School. Joe married Teri Gerling February 7, 1986. Together they made their home in Sioux City. Over the years, Joe worked at Meier Towing, had his own Towing business and worked for the City of Sioux City in the Transit Department for over 30 years. In 2017, Joe retired and the couple moved to Nashville, TN. Joe enjoyed ‘spreading his wisdom’ and continued to do so until the day he died.

Survivors include his wife, Teri Mills of Nashville, TN; three children, Scott (Sarah) Mills of Sioux City, Chris (Jonni) Mills of Sioux City and Melissa Houska of Rapid City, SD; six grandchildren, Hailey, Jesse, Dylan, Macyn, Jada and Tre; one brother, Rusty (Sherry) Mills of Battle Lake, MN; nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Karla; three sisters, Carolyn, Becky and Dawn .
