Jose "Homero" Cuesta Fuentes, 65 of Sioux City, IA passed away Thursday June 1, 2023 at his home. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.

Homero was born on March 5, 1958 in Ciudad Victoria, Tamulipas, Mexico to Dora Elva Fuentes and Jose Homero Cuesta.

He moved to the States at the age of 5. He attended school in California, he also worked in the fields alongside his Mother, this starting his strong work ethic. At the age of 17 the family moved to Nebraska to work at IBP. He spent 33 years at IBP/ Tyson working various jobs on the kill floor.

On June 27, 1977 Homero was united in marriage to Darla Murdock. Homero enjoyed his morning "5&5" at McDonald's, Watching his favorite soccer team, the Tigres and above all spending time with his Grandkids.

Homero is survived by his Children Jennifer Fuentes and Marisa Fuentes. Grandchildren David Fuentes, Dora Fuentes-Sebanc, Anthony Fuentes-Sebanc, Noah Yockey and Lucia Yockey. Brothers Alfredo Fuentes, Ruben Martinez, Ramon Cuesta, Jose Alberto Cuesta. Sisters Cecilia Cuesta and Lucia Cuesta. As well as many Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nieces and Nephews.

He was preceded in death by his Wife of 39 years, Darla. His Parents, Grandparents, and Grandson  Nicolas Torres.
