Johnny A. Piester, 72, of Sioux City, IA, passed away December 26, 2023.  A memorial service will be held Friday, January 5, 2024, at 11:00 a.m., with a visitation 1 hour prior at Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.  Burial will be at Logan Park Cemetery.

Johnny was born on January 28, 1951, in Mullen, NE to Stanley and Irene (Jameson) Piester.  He grew up in the sand hills of Nebraska and graduated high school from Central in 1970.  He was united in marriage to Cindy Braun on August 19, 1972.  Johnny owned and operated John’s Auto Repair in Sioux City for many years.  He was known for his honest and fair work, often helping others in need.  He was active in Whitfield United Methodist Church and enjoyed fishing.

Those left to honor his memory include his siblings: Ron (Helen) Piester, Sioux City, IA, Loyd (Shelly Anderson) Piester, Sioux City, IA, and Julia (Clifford) Davis, Sioux City, IA; and several nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Cindy Piester and daughter, Jennifer Piester.
