John Walsh, 62, of Anthon, Iowa passed away to be with his Heavenly Father at 12:53pm Wednesday, December 6, 2023, at Kingsley Specialty Care Center. Funeral Services will be held 10:30am Tuesday, December 12, 2023, at St. Joseph Catholic Church in Anthon, Iowa. A Visitation will be held at the same location Monday 4-6pm. Arrangements are under the direction of Waterbury Funeral Service of Sioux City.

John Joseph Walsh was born Wednesday, February 22, 1961, in Battle Creek, Iowa to John and Glenna Lee (Eckert) Walsh. He attended and graduated from Anthon-Oto school in 1979.

John was employed at Iowa Beef Processors and Wells Fargo Security Services. John was diagnosed with Parkinson’s disease when he was 29 years old. He continued to work with Wells Fargo until the late 1990’s when he retired due to his disability.

John enjoyed camping, fishing, playing cards and gardening. He was especially adept at teasing all of his nieces and nephews.

John is survived by his mother, his sisters Nancy Walz and Susan (Scott) Newton of Sioux City, IA; his brothers Michael (Karen) Walsh, of Holstein, IA, Steven (Charlotte) Walsh, of Odebolt, IA, Randall (Nanci) Walsh, of South Sioux City, NE, and Matthew (Michelle) Walsh of Holstein, IA; and well as many nieces and nephews.

John was preceded in death by his father, his brother Kevin; his sister Maryanna, and his brother-in-law Kyle Walz.
