John Clement Streeter, 80, of Sioux City, Iowa, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Westwood Specialty Care. Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, August 21, 2026, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 5010 Military Road, Sioux City, Iowa. Visitation will be held from 10:00 a.m. until the service at the church with burial to follow at Calvary Cemetery.
John was born on March 4, 1946, to Charles and Laura Streeter in McCook Lake, South Dakota. He graduated from Riverside High School in 1965. John married Carol Osburn on April 8, 1967, in Sioux City, Iowa, and together they built a loving family and shared 44 wonderful years together.
John worked for the Illinois Central Railroad for nine years before beginning a 36-year career with MidAmerican Energy. He retired in 2013 after many years of dedicated service.
John was a longtime member of the Knights of Columbus and Sacred Heart Catholic Church where he served as a Eucharistic Minister. He shared his love of sports through coaching baseball with Westside Little League, where he proudly led the 1983 12-year-old team to the Iowa State Championship. He also coached Siouxland Youth Hockey for many years.
In his spare time, John enjoyed farming, bailing hay, and cheering on the Iowa Hawkeyes; however, his greatest joy was his family. He loved supporting his children and grandchildren and rarely missed an opportunity to attend their extracurricular activities. Whether sitting in the stands or celebrating their accomplishments, John was always their biggest fan.
John is survived by his brother, Bob (Paulette) Streeter; son, Rod (Tanya) Streeter; daughter, Joni Walding; son-in-law, Craig Dam; grandchildren, Taylor Dam, Brady (Bailee) Dam, Katie Dam, Ryan Streeter, Ellie (Noah) Bond, Tessa Streeter, Mollie Walding, and Jaxon Walding; and great-grandchildren, Dakota, Brooks, and Baker Dam.
He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Carol; his daughter, Gina; and his siblings, Raymond Streeter, Donald Streeter, Joyce Foster, Sharon Culbertson, and Eugene “Boz” Streeter.
